Diljit Dosanjh Faces Restrictions Ahead of Hyderabad Concert: Telangana Government Cracks Down on Controversial Songs
Punjabi singer and Bollywood actor Diljit Dosanjh is embroiled in controversy after the Telangana government imposed strict restrictions on his upcoming Hyderabad concert. The action follows a complaint from a Chandigarh resident, who accused Diljit Dosanjh of promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence through his music. The complaint, supported by video evidence, cited songs such as “Patiala Peg,” “5 Taara,” and “Case”—a track from his latest album Ghost—performed at a prior concert in New Delhi.
The District Welfare Officer from the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, Rangareddy, has issued a notice barring Diljit Dosanjh from performing these songs during his Hyderabad event. Authorities have also warned him against using children in his performance, citing concerns over the adverse effects of loud sounds and flashing lights on young attendees.
This controversy has sparked a debate around Diljit Dosanjh’s music, which, while immensely popular, has often been criticized for allegedly glorifying substance abuse and violent behavior. Songs like “Patiala Peg” have been chart-toppers but remain controversial for their themes.
The Telangana government’s intervention emphasizes promoting a family-friendly environment at public events. The restrictions may force Dosanjh to revise his setlist, as many of his hits fall under the scrutiny of these guidelines.
This isn’t the first time Diljit Dosanjh has faced backlash for his content, but the current scenario highlights increasing accountability for artists and the impact of their work on young audiences. Fans now await his performance with bated breath, wondering how the singer-actor will handle these restrictions while delivering a memorable show.

The actress claims she believed the gifts were personal and that Chandrasekhar was a legitimate businessman, leaving her in shock at the criminal allegations now surfacing.
Representing Jacqueline Fernandez, her legal team stated, “She was not involved in money laundering nor was she aware of the source of the gifts.” The actress has now been drawn into the spotlight of a publicized investigation led by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which accuses Chandrasekhar of extorting vast sums from Aditi Singh, wife of a prominent businessman, and using those funds to shower Jacqueline Fernandez with expensive gifts. These items, allegedly bought with “proceeds of crime,” have placed Fernandez in a difficult position as she attempts to distance herself from Chandrasekhar’s network.
