Kapil Sharma’s Netflix Show Sparks Outrage: Accused of Disrespecting Rabindranath Tagore’s Legacy, Salman Khan Denies Any Connection
The Great Indian Kapil Show, Kapil Sharma’s latest venture on Netflix, has come under fire after a legal notice was issued, accusing the show of allegedly disrespecting the legacy of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Filed by Dr. Mondal, represented by legal advisor Nripendra Krishna Roy, the complaint claims that the show disparages Tagore’s legacy and risks offending cultural and religious sentiments, sparking strong reactions online and drawing criticism from fans and public figures alike.

Adding fuel to the fire, rumors began circulating that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s production company, SKTV, was linked to The Great Indian Kapil Show. However, on Wednesday, Salman Khan’s team issued a firm denial, clarifying that neither the actor nor his company has any involvement with the show. In an official statement, Salman’s representative said, “We have no association with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Certain sections of the media are inaccurately reporting that Salman Khan or SKTV are linked to the legal notice, which is incorrect, as we have no connection to the show.”
Despite this clarification, the controversy surrounding the show only seems to be growing. This incident adds to the growing list of recent Bollywood controversies where celebrities and major productions have been accused of cultural insensitivity. Whether this will affect Kapil Sharma’s future on OTT platforms or lead to further action remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan remains focused on his upcoming project, Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss. Amid ongoing death threats, the actor has been filming at Hyderabad’s lavish Falaknuma Palace Hotel, where enhanced security measures have been put in place to ensure his safety.
