Shah Rukh Khan Becomes India’s Top Taxpayer of 2023-24 with ₹92 Crore
Shah Rukh Khan has proved once again why he is called the King of Bollywood. According to Fortune India’s list of highest tax-paying celebrities for 2023-24, Shah Rukh Khan topped the chart by paying an impressive ₹92 crore in taxes. This makes him the biggest contributor among Indian celebrities, thanks to a blockbuster year at the box office.
2023 was a dream year for Shah Rukh Khan He made a grand comeback with Pathaan in January, which earned over ₹1000 crore worldwide. This was followed by the massive success of Jawan, which crossed ₹1150 crore globally, making it one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema. His third release of the year, Dunki, may not have been as big as the others but still managed to collect ₹400 crore.
With these back-to-back hits, Shah Rukh Khan not only ruled the box office but also became India’s highest-paid actor of the year. His massive earnings, including profit shares and brand endorsements, placed him far ahead of others.
The second spot on the list went to Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who paid ₹80 crore in taxes. Salman Khan came in third with ₹75 crore, followed by Amitabh Bachchan and Virat Kohli, who paid ₹71 crore and ₹66 crore, respectively. Among female stars, Kareena Kapoor was the highest taxpayer, paying ₹20 crore.

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has strongly denied allegations of money laundering in connection with the ₹200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Her team argued that “knowledge” is a key factor in proving involvement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

In the early hours of November 26, two low-intensity explosions shook Chandigarh’s Sector 26, targeting Seville Bar and De’orra Restaurant, reportedly linked to rapper Badshah. The blasts, occurring between 2:30 and 2:45 AM, caused minor property damage, including shattered windows and structural cracks, but no injuries were reported.
Eyewitness accounts and police reports revealed that the explosives were thrown by two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle. Hours after the incident, gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility through a social media post, alleging extortion demands were ignored by the nightclub’s owners including Badshah. The post warned of further actions if their conditions remained unmet.
