Pollywood Movie Mastaney release date, Budget cast Ratings and expected output
Mastaney is a historic drama of sikh Martyrs who stood firm against Nader Shah back in 1739. The history of India is full of rebels fights and sacrifices that gave us an independent nation in the end. But the Sikh community is considered one of the youngest and the strongest. They are known to fight masses with just a countable army. Mastaney as well brings some emotional historic drama of that kind.
It is a historic drama with some factual connections with the history of Nader Shah. For those unaware, Nadar Shah was one of the strongest rulers of Iran who stayed in power from 1736 to 1747. In 1738, he entered India to attack and loot it. While he kept defeating others and captured many states including Lahore, Kabul Peshawar and many others. But his death rumour after a big battle against the Mughal empire made locals start killing his troops.
An irritated and angry emperor ordered the sacking of the city. This made Mohammed Shah apologise and beg for the life of the public. But Nader only agreed to leave with the Peacock throne, Kohinoor and many jewels and treasures worth millions. While leaving he used many horses and elephants. On the way back Sikhs attacked his army to free slaves and treasury from him.
Mastaney tries to recreate that moment when the undefeatable was attacked by a few Sikhs to help the needy. But Nader Shah continued his journey back home. And he was able to successfully take enough valuables to keep his country tax-free for 3 years. While he attacked many and defeated them But he was attacked by Sikhs only who didn’t bow in front of him.
In Mastaney, Tarsem Jassar, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjeet Anmol, Honey Mattu and Baninder Bunny play the five Sikhs who plan and execute this attack. Further, Simi chahal, Rahul Dev, Avtar Gill and Arif Zakaria play supportive roles in the story. This is the first time that Pollywood is witnessing such a historic battle drama. Moreover, the movie is releasing simultaneously in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi.
If we see outside Pollywood, then this is not the first time. In the past as well many movies were made on the historic fights, battles, wins and defeats. A few of them turned out to be blockbusters. But the Punjabi community is for the first time experiencing a high-class historic drama. Many consider it a new beginning in the industry. Pollywood is gradually shifting to good movies and scripts from comedy and singing only.
All the main artists who play the five sikh rebellions carry a proper strict Sikh look of its time. Tarsem Jassar is the main pillar who has strong performance and in-depth devotion. His eyes carry that anger to build audience interest. The movie is ll set to release in five languages all over India from 25 August 2023.
The trailer of the film, Mastaney released on 6 August 2023 on Youtube channel. And within two weeks of the trailer launch the view count have crossed 15 million. And majority of the fans and viewers are super excited with the project. many are asking for the steps to reserve seats in advance. Female lead Simi Chahal as well uploaded a video on her Instagram profile promoting her upcoming historic drama. There she explained the tickets are available online. Other crew members are as well promoting the film through videos and chats on social media.
As the majority of the shootings were linked to the old times of 1739. Hence, the shoots of the movie took place majorly in India in a state with that infrastructure. Moreover, the battle view creation demanded huge investment. hence, the film used almost 20 crores in completion.
But the story and script are demanding enough to expect this much investment. But as the film is released in more than one language. There is high hope that it will recover initial costs in the first week of the release.
We wish the team of Mastaney all the best.
Thanks for reading.
