The Crew, an upcoming Bollywood tale starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon gets a release date
Feminist flick, The Crew is another entertainer from Hindi Cinema with no main male lead. Famous Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan who has previously as well worked in Female dramas takes the main lead role. As per the latest Bollywood news, the makers of the narrative have successfully locked a release date for the flick to be released.
It is going to get launched on 22nd March 2022. Along with Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai actress, Tabu and Kriti Sanon as well will play pivotal characters in the film. In the past, since the start of the industry, only male actors were cast as the main leads. Females were cast to generate love angles, intimacy and other supportive characters only. Their screen time as well used to be limited.
But in 2008 Madhur Bhandarkar made the first female drama with no male lead. He had full confidence in his story and cast. And the audience appreciated the narrative making it a success at the ticket window. After that the trend started and rest is the history. now we see female-oriented Bollywood tales every year competing with the rest of the launches of the world of entertainment.
A few of the big hits that created good records in the industry include Veere Di Wedding, Heroine, Dangal, Mary Kom and many others. Among them, Veere Di Wedding was a female-centric drama created by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. The flick had Kareena Kapoor Khan in the titular character. Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania play the second leads.
The feature film received positive critics from all over. Moreover, it was a huge box-office success. Now the makers are collaborating again with the Jab We Met actress another time. This time Tabu and Kriti Sanon play the second leads. just like their previous collaboration Veere Di Wedding, the makers have finalised two male actors in the supportive roles.
This time famous comedian Kapil Sharma and Pollywood singer Diljit Dosanjh will accompany the Crew star cast as the supporting artists of the story. It is not clear yet who will act opposite Poo of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Further, the title of the flick somehow relates to the cabin crew of the hostesses. Shootings are going on in full swing. As the majority of the shooting has finished.
Hence, it was the right time for the makers to lock in a release date for this narrative. The team have finalised 22 March 2024. It is going to be a Friday and there will be a week off in schools. Further, if it is a family-based drama then there is a likelihood of better footfall and better chances of success at the box office.
On the work front, Tabu was last seen in Kuttey and Bholaa this year. Interestingly both the Bollywood movies did fairly in financial terms at the box office. She had an upcoming drama lined up to release on Netflix. The name of the film is Khufia. Tabu plays the main lead and Ali Fazal is cast as the second lead. It is a spy-based thriller.
Apart from Khufia, she has Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and The Crew lined up for theatrical release in the coming year.
Next Kriti Sanon was last seen in Shehzada and Adipurush. But both movies failed to impress the audience at the box office. Shehzada was a Telugul remake of a superhit film named Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Further, Adipurush as well failed to generate profits. And it also faced a swear backlash owing to the improper presentation of the history of Ramayana in the epic drama.
Kriti played the character of Sita and had big hopes. But people objected to the whole team criticizing them to compromise on history just for the sake of entertainment. Now the Luka Chuppi actress has three films lined up. Apart from The Crew, she has Ganapath- part 1 and another untitled comedy drama. Tiger Shroff is the main lead of Ganapath. Also, senior actor Amitabh Bachchan as well will be seen portraying an important character.
Last but not least Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in Lal Singh Chadha. And her entertainer failed to impress the audience on the silver screen. Also, the main lead Aamir Khan faced a severe negative response and boycott from the audience on social media. It badly affected the output results.
But when the same tale launched on OTT it received lots of views on that platform. This year the Bodyguard actress is working on two more projects namely The Buckingham Murders and The Devotion Of Suspect X. Both entertainers give an idea of being investigative in nature.
