Just a few days ahead of Diwali, the Supreme Court directs guidelines on firecrackers. Deets Inside.

In a recent development, the state of Rajasthan has committed to the Supreme Court of India to issue comprehensive guidelines regarding the use of firecrackers in the state. Especially with Diwali just around the corner to stop added pollution because of firecrackers. Responding to this, the Supreme Court has reaffirmed its previous instructions against the use of barium and banned chemicals in firecrackers for the Delhi-NCR region. Hence, it extends these directives to apply nationwide due to the recognized health risks associated with their use.

Furthermore, the Court has urged state governments to take proactive measures to combat air and noise pollution. Given India’s high population density, pollution levels continue to rise, leading to compromised air quality. The state of Rajasthan has been specifically reminded that no additional directives are necessary. And it should strictly adhere to prior orders.

Our Belief

It is our strong belief that firecrackers add little to the celebration, but their aftermath can result in numerous health issues, including severe injuries and burns. These accidents often lead to hospitalization and leave lasting marks on individuals. Therefore, we advocate for the adoption of alternative methods, such as drones or AI technology, to create a vibrant and safe festive atmosphere, rather than investing in the improvement of firecrackers.

Diwali in India

Diwali, deeply rooted in religious significance across Indian communities, is celebrated by netizens with fervour, marked by devotion, illuminated festivities, crackers, and sweets. It symbolizes the onset of joyous new beginnings. Consequently, altering the tradition of celebrating Diwali without firecrackers poses a significant challenge, as it demands substantial time and effort. Implementing this change necessitates extensive public awareness campaigns, with a focus on preparing for the forthcoming Diwali, to garner widespread support and understanding.

We extend our warmest wishes to our readers for a healthy and safe Diwali celebration.
