Details of Raj Kundra’s Money Laundering Case worth 6600 crores
Raj Kundra better known as Shilpa Shetty’s husband once again created news headlines for his involvement in Illecit activities. As per the latest tweet of ED, the department recently took action by attaching immovable and movable properties worth ₹97.79 crore linked to Raj Kundra under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Details of the Attachment
The attached properties include a residential flat in Juhu registered in Shilpa Shetty’s name, a residential bungalow in Pune, and equity shares owned by Raj Kundra. These actions were initiated after many First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed by both the Maharashtra Police and the Delhi Police against the company named Variable Tech Pte Ltd and its various MLM agents.
Allegations and Investigations in Raj Kundra Money Laundering Case
As per the investigation funds(including Bitcoins) worth ₹6,600 Crore were collected from the public with false promises of high returns in 2017. Raj Kundra allegedly received 285 Bitcoins from Amit Bhardwaj, who was the mastermind behind the Gain Bitcoin ponzi scam, for setting up a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine.
Current Status and Legal Proceedings
Despite multiple search operations and the arrest of three individuals, including Simpy Bhardwaj, Nitin Gaur, and Nikhil Mahajan, the main accused, Ajay Bhardwaj and Mahendra Bhardwaj, remain absconding. The ED accuses the promoters of the Gain Bitcoin Ponzi scheme of concealing ill-gotten Bitcoins in obscure online wallets.
Present Value of 285 Bitcoins Raj Kundra owns
As per the present value, Raj Kundra’s owned Bitcoins are worth 150 crores. These bitcoins are somehow proof of Raj Kundra’s involvement in the Money laundering case.
