A tragic stampede during the December 4 premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre has put the film’s producers, Mythri Movie Makers, in the spotlight. The incident led to the death of a woman named Revathi and left her eight-year-old son, Sri Teja, badly injured. On December 23, producer Naveen Yerneni visited the hospital where Sri Teja is being treated and gave a ₹50 lakh cheque to Revathi’s husband, Bhaskar, to help the family financially.
