Mithde: A Comedy-Driven Love Triangle That Misses the Mark 🎬😐
Director & Writer: Amberdeep Singh
Starring: Tania, Roopi Gill, Laksh Duleh
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: March 14, 2025
Plot Summary: A Familiar Love Triangle with a Comedic Twist 🎭😅
Mithde presents a classic love triangle set against the vibrant backdrop of Punjab. The story revolves around a young man, played by debutant Laksh Duleh, who finds himself caught between two women—his teacher and a classmate. This complicated love angle leads to several humorous situations, making the film an easygoing watch. However, while the concept is engaging, it doesn’t offer anything extraordinary that sets it apart from the countless other Punjabi rom-coms we’ve seen before.
Performances: A Noteworthy Debut Amidst Seasoned Actors 🌟🎭
- Laksh Duleh: Considering this is his first film, Laksh Duleh gives a fair performance. He manages to deliver his role with the required charm, but there’s definitely room for improvement. While his presence is refreshing, he doesn’t yet have the screen presence to carry a film on his shoulders.
- Tania & Roopi Gill: Both actresses do justice to their roles, bringing the required emotions and comedic timing. However, their characters lack depth, making their impact limited.
- Supporting Cast: The real entertainment in Mithde comes from the supporting actors who ensure that the comedy elements stay intact.
Direction & Writing: Comedy Over Substance 🎥🖋️
Amberdeep Singh, known for blending humor with emotions, plays it safe with Mithde. The film’s storytelling focuses on humor, but it lacks layers. The narrative follows a predictable trajectory, failing to bring any fresh perspective to the romantic comedy genre.
Comedy: The Strength & The Weakness 😂🎭
Comedy is an essential part of Punjabi cinema, and that’s not a bad thing. Be it Bollywood or any other entertainment industry, comedy plays a significant role in making films engaging. However, there are two kinds of comedy—one that is genuinely unforgettable and the other that just fills space. Unfortunately, Mithde falls into the latter category.
Unlike films like No Entry, which became iconic due to their unpredictable and never-ending chain of hilarious events, Mithde delivers just another dose of regular Punjabi comedy. While it does entertain, it doesn’t take you to another world of humor. The jokes land well, but they’re not groundbreaking or memorable enough to be considered a milestone in Punjabi cinema.
Final Verdict: A Light-Hearted Watch That Won’t Leave a Lasting Impact 🎬😐

Mithde is entertaining, no doubt, but it does nothing to push the boundaries of Punjabi cinema. It follows the same formula as many other Punjabi films, delivering a story that relies on humor but doesn’t offer any surprises. While Laksh Duleh makes a decent debut, and the supporting cast ensures some laughs, the film ultimately remains an average addition to the long list of Punjabi comedies.
If you’re looking for a casual watch with some fun moments, Mithde does the job. But if you’re expecting a comedy that sets a new benchmark, this isn’t it.
