Kartik Aaryan to spread the magic in Aashiqui 3 replacing previous lead Aditya Roy Kapur

As per the latest news, Kartik Aaryan is the next lead in the boat as Aashiqui 3 is on the way. The makers of the franchise are going to start with the 3rd instalment of the Aashiqui series. The first film with the same name Aashiqui was launched in the year 1990. It was a musical and a romantic thriller with Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal as the main leads of the love story.

Mahesh Bhatt was the director of this romantic tale. The story revolved around two young people who met in a police station and end up falling in love. As they struggle in life Anu becomes a successful model and urges Rahul to start a profession at his mother’s suggestion. He as well becomes a successful singer. But misunderstandings continue to separate them from marrying. Finally, Rahul’s mother explained him everything and they unite in the end.

All the soundtracks in the narrative trended and became all-time hits. Further, it was made on a heavy budget of 80 lakhs at that time. And interestingly, it managed to make 5 crores in its theatrical lifetime that year. Further, it was not just a hit film rather it was a film with the best soundtrack album that sold 20 million units.

For the unversed, it was a movie that continued to run in theatres for 52 long weeks with full houses. Gulshan Kumar was the producer of this musical love story and T series was the official production company.

In the year 2013 a sequel of the movie was made with a completely different idea and this time the stars in the film were Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. This time the sequel was made on a budget of 18 crores and turned out to be a superhit again grossing 109 crores in its theatrical lifetime. This time the director of the flick was Mohit Suri.

The soundtrack of this narrative was well got appreciated by the audience. But the main plot of the tale was completely different. Here Aditya Roy Kapoor was a successful singer in the start and he found Shraddha as a struggling artist. He gave her a brake in the industry and they both fell in love. Finally, the male lead commits suicide at the end of the story as his addiction was holding his love away from success.

This time Bhushan Kumar, son of Gulshan Kumar, joined hands with Mukesh Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, and Krishan Kumar to produce this love tale. The teaser poster of Aashiqui 2 was inspired by Aashiqui.

Now the makers Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar have announced Aashiqui three. They have also short-listed Kartik Aaryan to play the main lead in the upcoming instalment of the series. Additionally, the female lead is not yet decided. But as per the news the top actresses are being considered for this lead role. The list includes the names of Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone. Only time will tell who will get shortlisted.

In Aashiqui 2 Aditya Roy Kapoor’s character ended his life. Hence when the media asked him to comment on his replacement he said no doubts he cannot reprise his role in Aashiqui 3 even if the story continues. Shraddha Kapoor is yet to comment on the project.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan’s latest film SatyaPrem ki Katha was just released on 29th June 2023. Kiara Advani plays his love interest in this romantic comedy. This is their second movie together after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. That was a big success at the Box office.

On the other hand, Aditya Roy Kapur who played the lead role in Aashiqui 2 was last seen in Gumraah in a dual role. It was made on a big budget of 25 crores. Aditya Roy Kapur worked really hard to get into the 6 pack physique for his position. But the audience did not like it and it failed to generate good money at the Box office.

These days sequels are making a trend in the industry. And the roles are as well reprised to continue the story further. For example Dhoom series, the Krrish series, Drishyam, and the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series. The makers launch the next part after a few years and get good profits out of the project.

Recently, Gadar 2 was announced and its second part pushed the makers to relaunch Part 1 with some changes. The audience has positively accepted it making grounds for the success of part 2. The makers of the Aashiqui series expect the same from the third instalment. As the T series company is mainly the producer, there is a likelihood of some good soundtracks and love songs in the narrative.

We wish the makers create another memorable love story this time and another history with the best melodies.
