Kangana Ranaut uses her social media platform to appeal to the Indian audience to help the industry revive from a Covid hit back by supporting her latest film, “Tejas,” in theatres.
Kangana Ranaut came up front on her social media account. In her post she is encouraging netizens to watch her latest release Tejas in the theatres. Her statement includes, ” Namaste friends, just yesterday our film Tejas was released in cinema. And whoever watched this movie appreciates our work and is blessing us. But friends after covid our Hindi Film industry has not been able to successfully recover fully. 99% of films do not get a chance an audience.”
The Tanu Weds Manu actress further added, “I know in this developed era, everyone owns a personal phone and there is T.V. at Home. But community viewing is missing.” She further said, ” Theatres have been an important part of our civilization since the very beginning.” Citing examples she named Nritya, Kala, Kathakali, and every type of folk dance and stage episode. She also said that these have been the major parts of our community life and social life. In the end, she appealed the audience of the Hindi film industry. Especially the industry of multiplexes that if they have watched movies like URI, Mary Kom and Neerja in theatres. Then they will enjoy watching Tejas. Jai Hind.

Using social media for movie promotion is not a new tactic for actors. Celebrities have consistently utilized various platforms to generate interest in their latest releases. This practice underscores how effective it can be. Sometimes, a quality project may not perform well due to a lack of robust promotion. While an average film can avoid losses because of a strong initial promotional campaign that draws in audiences and recoups a significant portion of the investment.
However, when a movie is produced with a substantial budget and faces a lacklustre performance in its first week, these publicity efforts often yield limited results. A genuine blockbuster is one that generates organic, positive word-of-mouth among audiences, compelling them to watch. In the recovery phase, films like “Jawan” and “Gadar 2” defied conventional norms and garnered a worldwide Indian audience.
Controversial Image of Kangana Ranaut
Furthermore, Kangana Ranaut is a prominent self-made Indian actress. Despite her considerable achievements, her controversial image, particularly her criticism of other actors’ releases, has created a negative aura around her. She has previously emphasized the importance of recognizing that the audience is the ultimate arbiter in determining the success of a narrative. She has even criticized certain filmmakers as “mafias” for fabricating figures to inflate box office numbers. However, this extreme negativity is beginning to impact her own career.
Over the past two years, she has not delivered a single hit. Even the sequel to “Chandramukhi” failed to revive her declining career. Currently, the actress is anticipating the biggest release of her career, titled “Emergency.” She announced this film during Punjab’s protest against the Indian government’s three controversial farmer laws. According to close reports, the “Tanu Weds Manu” actress has invested her entire lifetime savings in producing this narrative. She portrays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
It remains to be seen whether “Emergency” will thrive in theatres or face a fate similar to “Tejas.” We wish her goodluck.
