Kangana Ranaut on Bollywood: ‘Celebrities Are Dumb, Dimwits, and Totally Blank’

Kangana Ranaut has always been known for her blunt opinions, but her recent comments about Bollywood might be some of her most pointed yet. During a chat with Raj Shamani on his podcast, Kangana didn’t hold back in criticizing the film industry she’s been a part of for years. She didn’t mince words, calling Bollywood stars “full of themselves, dumb, grasshoppers, dimwits, and totally blank,” making it clear that she feels very disconnected from the world of glitz and glamour.

When asked if she has any friends in Bollywood, Kangana’s response was straightforward: “I’m not a Bollywood kind of person. I can’t be friends with Bollywood people for sure. Bollywood people are just full of themselves. They’re stupid, they are dumb, protein shake…They are like grasshoppers, totally blank. How do you be friends with such people? They have no idea of what’s going on where. They have no conversations.”

Kangana Ranaut didn’t just stop there—she went on to share how frustrating she finds the social scene in Bollywood, especially the parties. For her, these gatherings are anything but exciting. Instead, they’re a reminder of what she sees as the shallow nature of the industry. She described the conversations she’s overheard, which are often about branded bags, luxury cars, diets, and celebrity gossip. “I’d be very shocked to find a decent person in Bollywood who can talk beyond branded bags or cars…It’s embarrassing, the talks they are having. A Bollywood party for me is like a trauma,” she confessed, clearly disillusioned.

Kangana Ranaut also criticized the daily routines of many actors, describing them as living in a bubble. “If they’re not shooting, their routine is—wake up in the morning, do some physical training, sleep in the afternoon, wake up, go to the gym, and sleep at night or watch TV. They have no idea of what’s going on where,” she said. To her, the industry seems out of touch with reality, stuck in a loop of self-care and superficiality.

Critical view of Kangana Ranaut clearly shows her disconnection with the industry and the frustration coming out of it. Every time Kangana is interviewed she had something bad to say about her colleagues, competitors and fellow workers. The hatred seems endless.

But majority of the blamed artists chose to ignore her and the controversial statements issued by her but they have definitely sidelined and boycott her from the circle. No doubts her over spoken and indigestive comments have landed her in a stage where she had to pursue politics as an exit plan.

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut is returning on the silver screens with Emergency in which she not only portrayed the lead character but also directed it

The film, which also features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik, is already creating a lot of buzz. With Emergency, Kangana is not just showcasing her acting talents but also her skills as a filmmaker, further proving that she’s a force to be reckoned with in Bollywood, even if she doesn’t feel entirely at home in the industry.
