Raj Kundra Summoned by ED in Money Laundering Case Linked to Pornography Scandal
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra, is once again at the center of a legal storm. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Kundra in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged distribution of pornographic films. He has been asked to appear at the ED’s Mumbai office at 11 AM on Monday. The summons follow raids at 15 locations across Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, including Raj Kundra’s properties.
Kundra’s Defense: Claims of Innocence
Raj Kundra’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, dismissed the allegations, stating, “Raj Kundra’s transactions are legitimate, and taxes have been paid. The chargesheet does not implicate him in any wrongdoing.” Patil asserted that Raj Kundra has not engaged in money laundering and expressed confidence in his client’s innocence.
The ‘Hotshots’ Controversy
The case stems from FIRs filed by the Mumbai Police in 2022, alleging that the now-defunct app Hotshots was used to stream explicit content. Raj Kundra has denied these claims, maintaining that there is no evidence of his active involvement. He told the court, “The prosecution lacks proof to criminalize the app. My name wasn’t even in the initial FIR.” Kundra has consistently alleged that he is being made a scapegoat.
Previous Legal Troubles
This isn’t Raj Kundra’s first encounter with the ED. Earlier this year, the agency seized ₹98 crore worth of assets from him and Shilpa Shetty in a cryptocurrency case, though the Bombay High Court later provided relief.
As the ED intensifies its probe, Raj Kundra continues to deny all allegations, vowing to fight what he calls baseless accusations.

Neeraj Pandey, the filmmaker behind gripping thrillers like Special 26 (2013) and Baby (2015), ventures into familiar territory with Sikandar Ka Muqaddar. Starring Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Jimmy Shergill, the film begins with promise, weaving a tale of suspense, betrayal, and redemption. The story of Sikandar Ka Muqaddar revolves around a diamond heist at a high-profile exhibition. Sikandar (Avinash Tiwary), his wife Kamini (Tamannaah Bhatia), and Mangesh Desai (Rajeev Mehta) find themselves as prime suspects under the watchful eye of Jaswinder Singh (Jimmy Shergill). Despite no concrete evidence against him, Sikandar’s life spirals into chaos—he loses his job, his reputation, and even his peace of mind. Seeking solace, he marries Kamini, a single mother, only for life to deal him another blow when Kamini falls seriously ill. Fifteen years later, a call from Jaswinder reopens the case, leading to a climax that ties up the loose ends.
