Who was Satish Kaushik?
To begin, Satish Chandra Kaushik was an Indian actor as well as director. And, he played many supportive and comedian roles in Hindi movies. Moreover, he as well worked as a screenwriter. Besides, he played prominent comedian roles in hit movies like Ramlakhan and Saajan Chale Sasural.
In fact, he started his career as a director with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. And, the movie came out to be a disaster. Obviously, that was a depressing period for the actor.
To summarize, On 9th March 2023, early morning he couldn’t survive a heart attack and passed away. While he was travelling in his car during that time, suddenly he complained about breathlessness. Then, his manager rushed him to the nearest hospital. But, the emergency team declared him bought dead. Also, his nephew Nishaan Kaushik accompanied the family to the hospital. In fact, the last rites as well began the late evening on the same day, Thursday 9th March.
Many celebrities turned for the funeral and last rites at the actor’s residence
Firstly, actor Salman Khan arrived in his car. Then, singer-turned-actress Shehnaaz Gill as well arrived to attend the funeral. After that, his good friend Javed Akhtar arrived with his son Farhan Akhtar. Also, the young actor, Ishaan Khattar as well attended the funeral along with his Mother Neelima. Particularly, actor-director and a dear friend of Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher was seen sitting next to his friend to bid a final goodbye.
Other celebrities present at the funeral included Abhishek Bachchan, Subash Ghai, Ila Arjun, Pankaj Tripathi, Rakhi Sawant, and Shilpa Shetty.

The funeral card stated “Jai Shree Ram! The cremation procession of Mr. Satish Kaushik ji will take place at 5pm today. And, the same will proceed from his residency (raj classic. A wing 803/804. Off yari road. Versova. Andheri west) to the Versova crematorium.
It further included the Below address: Hindu samshan bhoomi. Brihanmumbai mahanagar palika. Jp rd. Versova. Andheri west. Mumbai. Maharashtra 400061 In the end, It said Please keep him and the entire family in your prayers.”

Anupam Kher
Since his death, his friend Anupam Kher looked heartbroken and shocked. And, his tribute to the star included,
“I know ‘death is the ultimate truth of this world!’” Kher wrote. “But I never thought in my dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Further he added, Such a sudden full stop on a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH!”
Actor, comedian Johnny lever mourns his loss and said
“The first time I met Satish ji was in the year ‘85, he was an Ast. director on an ad film we did together & just last week we were shooting together. A great actor, director & producer. It’s a huge loss for us & the industry. In the end, he writes Prayers & condolences for the family. Rip #satishkaushik ji.”
Actress Neena Gupta shares a video on Instagram remembering her good friend Satish
Actor Shatrughan Sinha pays the tribute through his tweet stating,
“One of the most loved, admired human beings, friend, thoroughly disciplined, professional actor, par excellence, an NSD graduate, known for his perfect sense of timing & heart touching performances #SatishKaushik is no more. Certainly a great loss to the films and film industry. Then he added Heartfelt condolences & prayers for his family, friends, followers, supporters, well-wishers & fans. Om Shanti,”
Actor Akshay Kumar remembers him in his tweet and paying him tribute he wrote,
Chitrangada Sen pays tribute to her senior through her tweet stating,
“You will stay alive in our hearts and memory always Satish sir ..then she writes, this is so heartbreaking .. deep loss of immense talent & such a warm wonderful soul,”
Tiger series lead and actor Salman Khan states,
“Always loved cared n respected him n shall always remember him for the man that he was. Further he said, May his soul rest in peace n strength to family n loved ones. .. #RIP Satish Ji,”
Alia Bhatt pays tribute through Instagram by sharing the pictures of the late actor from his various films and writes,
“Thank you for decades of love, laughter and pure entertainment. RIP Sir, you will be missed. In the end, she writes, Love and strength to the family.”
Iconic roles of the actor
To sum up, Kaushik played the role of Calender in Mr India and the movie became a blockbuster of its time. And his character was very well appreciated and liked by the audience.
Then, he played another iconic comic role as Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana
In addition, he as well acted internationally playing the character of Chanu Ahmed in Sarah Gavron’s British film Brick Lane.
He had also won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award twice, in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.
