Bobby Deol expresses his heartfelt gratitude to Salman Khan for being instrumental in the revival of his career through their collaboration in “Race 3”.

Bollywood actor Bobby Deol, who gained fame in the late 90s, faced a lull in his career due to a string of flops and a dearth of quality scripts. After a prolonged hiatus, he staged a comeback with the 2018 Salman Khan starrer, “Race 3”. Now, the career of the “Barsaat” actor is on the upswing. His next major release, “Animal”, is featuring him alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and others, on the horizon.

During a recent public appearance, the “Gupt” actor became emotional reflecting on his journey. He expressed profound gratitude towards Salman Khan, his co-star in “Race 3”, for revitalizing his career.

Bobby Deol said

Praising the Dabangg series actor, Bobby Deol said, “Salman ko toh mai Hamesha thank you bolte rahu zindagi bhar. Salman ne mujhe ek din phone kia aur bola, ‘Mamu shirt utarega?’ Maine bola, ‘Mamu mai kuch bhi karunga.’ Toh bolta, ‘Aaja kal mere ghar.’ Toh uss Wajah se mujhe Race 3 mili.  (I would keep thanking Salman for the rest of my life. One Day Salman called me and asked, ‘Mamu, will you go shirtless?.’ I replied, ‘Mamu, I’ll do anything.’ Then he said, ‘Visit me home tomorrow.’ For that reason I received my role in Race 3).” 

In continuation, Bobby Deol shared that due to his absence from the screens, the younger generation had trouble recognizing him. Although his role in “Race 3” didn’t immediately alter the course of his career, it served as a catalyst for his resurgence, leading to projects like “Housefull 4”, Netflix’s “Class of 83”, and “Ashram”.

He expressed, “It wasn’t a complete turnaround, but in a way, it put me back on the map. Thanks to that, I got ‘Housefull 4’, but I still wasn’t content as an actor, as I wasn’t finding it stimulating. I yearned to challenge myself, to inhabit diverse characters. So, when I landed ‘Class of 83’, I believe that’s when the tide turned for me. And then came ‘Ashram’.”

Deols revived simultaneously

Not only is Bobby Deol making headlines for his impactful roles, but his brother Sunny Deol also made a triumphant return to the silver screen with “Gadar 2”. The film captured the hearts of the Indian audience and played a significant role in revitalizing the thriving state of Bollywood.

Bobby Deol is set to portray a powerful antagonist in the film “Animal”, where he will face off against Ranbir Kapoor. Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s love interest, while Anil Kapoor delivers a formidable performance in a supporting role.
