A complete review including the budget of Blackia 2 a Pollywood sequel starring Dev Kharaoud in and as Blackia again.
Blackia 2 is a sequel to the Blackia Punjabi movie that was released in 2019. It starred Dev Kharaoud as the main lead with Ahana Dhillon as his love interest. Apart from that it also had Rana Jung Bahadur, Rekha, Bharath, Lucky Dhaliwal, and Ashish Duggal. The story of part 1 of Blackia revolves around an intelligent Punjabi boy who gets trapped in a foul play and ends up in jail. Over there he eventually generated links and when he came out he became the biggest smuggler in the state.
In Blackia 2 again Dev Kharaoud comes as the biggest smuggler of gold in the country. In part 1 he died as Gamma declared bad and of the wrong path. Hence in part two, he will not continue in the same role. Instead, it is a new story resembling a bit with that of the first part. Further, just like part one of Blackia, part two also links to the fictional history of smuggling back in 1975. Apart from Dev Kharaoud, Japji Khaira, Arushi Sharma, Shavinder Mahal, Lucky Dhaliwal, Yaad Grewal and Samuel John will portray important roles in the story.
The first part of the movie was made on a reasonable budget of around 2 and 1/2 crores and turned out to be a big head collecting around 12 rows in its big screen lifetime. This Blackia 2 is made on a bit heavy budget investing around six crores in total. As the sequels are trending in both Bollywood and Bollywood The makers of the movie wanted to get the benefits from the last bit that gathered profits on big screens.
Additionally, the Rupinder Gandhi actor lived the character of Gamma while performing for Blackia. Hence, this time he is also the writer of the story. Further, the teaser of the movie was released on a YouTube channel named Yellow Music. Although it was launched on a good channel with 1.5 million subscribers, the teaser did not get the exposure required. And, the total number of views to date in 2 months just reached below 450000.
The actual trailer launch is still pending as Blackia 2 is set to hit the big streams from 22nd September 2023. Hence, considering the fact that there is some time gap available yet. Therefore, the team will plan a launch nearing the release date to grab more attention of the audience.
The teaser shows Dev Kharaoud as Gamma in a rich smuggler look. He’s in expensive professional suits flaunting luxury watches, cars, guns, gangs, high standards and all that is normal for a smuggler. As the audience has already liked him as Gamma, this time he is more confident and a better version of his character. Further, the main producers of the flick are Ohri Productions. And this time they have invested bigger amounts considering the trends of sequels and character awareness.
Also, the majority of the shootings took place locally in the villages of Punjab resembling the times of 1975. To use of old trucks and horse rides tries to make this fictional drama more practically linked to the times it tries to reflect. Japji Khaira gives a short glimpse in the teaser and her role will be more visible in the main trailer. As they place the titular role and the whole story of Blackia 2 revolves around him he takes the maximum time in the teaser of the film.
In the end, it is a fictional historical drama that reflects the introduction of gold smuggling in India through Pakistan and shows Punjab as the physical linking state of execution of this illegal activity. There is a likelihood of audience interest as Dave was accepted as a black year in part 1.
