Bawaal is a relation-based Hindi Drama that depicts a story of a couple who got married to start a happy life. But they end up leading it as a Bawaal of their lives. In the Story, Ajay carries a fake over-the-top image. He made this claim to be an achiever and all-rounder. But in reality, it was just an impossible story of bluffs Moreover, his pretending attitude secured him a job as a teacher in a secondary school in Lucknow.
His friends, colleagues, and students are always impressed with his success that is all his word created. he even impressed Nisha’s parents with his word game. But before marrying Nisha disclosed to him his medical condition named Epilepsy.

An arrogant, rude and overconfident Ajay departed but a humble, decent and adjusting Ajay lands back. Now he is more accepting and starts all the way from the start. He even changes his behaviour towards Nisha and starts to fall for her.
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor play the characters of Ajay and Nisha in the flick. Further, Nitesh Tiwari is the writer and director of this drama. The main part of the entertainer is mainly shot in different cities of Europe. But all the shootings are on locals or museums related to World War 2. Ratings
The makers try to bring a story with a life lesson for the audience. For, movies and dramas from the 90s used to hold that lesson at the end. But now the audience is more demanding and all they want is entertainment. Hardly matters, if the story gives a moral at the end or if it was just a comedy. Every minute matters in the world of showbiz.
Varun Dhawan tries hard to get into the character. But the character itself lacks a lot. It does not have a bold and entertaining personality. He completely changes as a human but that as well lacks the charisma of celebration. He seems all-powerful to keep up with his lies and nothing else beyond that.
But still, it is not winning hearts. The story lacks that entertainment that brings an obvious interest. Director wants to connect the audience with the martyrs of world war 2. But the connection goes incomplete.
Janhvi Kapoor has nothing to do with the story. Just presents herself as a victim who continues to struggle with hope. All she does is try to impress her strange husband on that educational trip. Even the fights and the patch are not that dramatic to achieve an audience connection with the emotions. There is no hard romantic push as well. You won’t find a good climax in the narrative till the end. It lacks all the basic things that make a movie an entertainer.
In the end, only good actors cannot save a bad story. It starts meaningless and ends without any good closure. A complete waste of resources and money. As the film premiered on OTT, the makers somehow got saved from losses it was going to make on the big screens.
We rate it as a poorly directed film with 2-star ratings. If you are a die-hard fan of Varun Dhawan or Janhvi Kapoor and have an Amazon Prime membership then it’s worth watching it there. Else it’s hard for the flick to get views and audience TRP like Kajol’s The Trail did.
