Comedian Bal Mukand Sharma Appointed Chairman of Punjab State Food Department visits Golden Temple To seek blessings
Comedian Bal Mukand Sharma recently visited Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib to seek blessings from the divine for his new responsibility. He expressed gratitude for being appointed as the Chairman of the Punjab State Food Department by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, considering it a significant responsibility entrusted to him.
During his visit to Guru Nagar, Bal Mukand Sharma paid homage to the family and immersed himself in the divine atmosphere, listening to the kirtan of divine verses and offering prayers for the well-being of all. Speaking to the media, he emphasized the importance of fulfilling his new role with honesty and dedication.
He pledged to ensure that proper food reaches every city and town of Punjab, benefiting rural women and families. Bal Mukand Sharma stressed the need for transparency and accountability in the distribution of government funds allocated for food programs, including Anganwadi mid-day meals and ration flour.
Highlighting the importance of the Food Safety Act introduced by the Government of India in 2013, he emphasized the need for rigorous monitoring to ensure that ration reaches households accurately and efficiently. Bal Mukand Sharma announced plans to conduct door-to-door checks on the approximately 1700 depots in Amritsar to verify the delivery of the correct ration to consumers.
