Bad Newz is a traigular love based comedy drama with a medical twist like Good Newz Bollywood film.
Starcast of Bad Newz
Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri play the main leads as Akhil and Sonali in Bad Newz. Ammy Virk plays the major supportive role. Neha Dhupia also plays a snall yet influential role. Ananya Panday gave a cameo appearance. And Neha Sharma comes in an influential guest role.ย
Story of Bad Newzย
Bad Newz film opens with Ananya Panday portraying an actress in the film who visits Saloni, an aspiring chef, to understand and portray her character in an upcoming movie. Saloni, played with emotional depth, recounts her tumultuous journey, which begins with her dream of becoming a top chef.
Saloni’s story starts with her falling in love with Akhil Chadha and marrying him, believing he supports her ambitions. However, within six months, their marriage turns into a nightmare. Akhil’s pampering and interference derail her quest for the Best Chef Award, leading to their divorce. Determined to reclaim her dreams, Saloni relocates to Masoori to compete for the award once again.
Enter Ammy Virk as Gurbir Pannu, a shy and reserved hotel owner nursing a broken heart but dedicated to his business. Gurbir is instantly smitten by Saloni, and as the two work closely, a budding romance ensues. However, things take a wild turn when Saloni, on the first anniversary of her ill-fated marriage, receives videos of Akhil with other women. Overcome with jealousy and alcohol, she drags Gurbir to her bedroom, only to find Akhil there to surprise her. In a drunken haze, Saloni ends up entangled with both men.
Six weeks later, Saloni discovers she’s pregnant. A paternity test reveals an unexpected twist โ she is carrying twins, each fathered by Gurbir and Akhil. Faced with this bizarre predicament, Saloni decides to keep both children, giving Gurbir and Akhil a chance to prove themselves as fathers.
Hence a Good Newz turns to a Bad Newz.
What follows is a hilarious and chaotic series of “Tom and Jerry” style antics as Akhil and Gurbir compete for Saloni’s affection, each trying to outdo the other. Their constant bickering and attempts to sabotage each other create comedic gold but also take a toll on Saloni’s health. The situation reaches a critical point when her stress leads to complications in her pregnancy, forcing Akhil and Gurbir to confront their mistakes.
In a tense yet heartwarming climax, both men come together, realizing the importance of supporting Saloni. Their united efforts ensure the safe delivery of the twins, and the ordeal brings clarity to everyone’s relationships. Saloni finally wins her coveted Best Chef Award, presented to her by Gurbir’s ex, Sejal, adding a poignant touch to her victory.
In the end, Akhil and Saloni rekindle their romance, while Gurbir and Sejal find their way back to each other, wrapping up the Bad Newz on a hopeful note.

Review and Critics of Bad Newzย
Bad Newz unfolds as an intriguing parallel to the popular film “Good Newz,” bringing a comedic and heartwarming journey to the big screen. This film revolves around a love triangle, unexpected pregnancies, and a race to win back hearts, culminating in a similarly happy ending.
Vicky Kaushal delivers a stellar performance as Akhil Chadha, balancing emotions, style, and comedic timing with finesse in Bad Newz. His portrayal of Akhil’s nonsensical behavior and charm generates non-stop laughter, making him the standout performer of the film. Kaushal’s nuanced performance brings depth to Akhil’s character, making every scene he’s in captivating and entertaining.
Triptii Dimri as Saloni is magical, embodying the innocence and strength of her character despite the bizarre circumstances of being a mother of twins with different fathers. Her flawless acting justifies her title as the national crush, captivating audiences with her charm and authenticity. Triptii Dimri’s ability to convey vulnerability and resilience in equal measure ensures that Saloni remains a relatable and endearing protagonist throughout the film.
Ammy Virk’s performance as Gurbir Pannu, however, falls short. Despite his track record in Punjabi cinema, Virk struggles to bring depth to the shy and reserved character of Gurbir. His lack of confidence and expression makes it hard for viewers to connect with his role, missing a significant opportunity to showcase his acting prowess. This role, which could have been a breakout moment for him in Bollywood, unfortunately, feels underwhelming due to his subdued performance.
Neha Dhupia plays a supporting role as Saloni’s maasi, providing a solid support system. However, her screen time is limited, and her character could have been more developed, which feels like an injustice to an actress of her caliber. Dhupiaโs presence, though impactful in the scenes sheโs in, leaves the audience wanting more from her character, which could have added another layer to the story.
While “Bad Newz” succeeds in delivering an engaging story with plenty of laughs, the direction and narrative leave room for improvement. The comedic exchanges between Akhil and Gurbir are the film’s highlight, providing endless entertainment. These moments of light-hearted banter and rivalry are where the film truly shines, showcasing the potential of its premise.
However, the climax and the pivotal moment where Saloni turns to Gurbir could have been more compelling and better executed. The direction falters at crucial points, making some scenes feel rushed or underdeveloped. The narrative, while strong in its comedic elements, lacks the emotional punch in its resolution, which could have elevated the film to a higher level.
“Bad Newz” offers a delightful blend of comedy and drama, with standout performances from Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri. The film’s humorous take on a complicated love triangle and unexpected pregnancies keeps the audience engaged, even if some narrative elements fall short. While Ammy Virk’s performance may not hit the mark, the film’s overall charm and entertainment value make it worth watching.
The comedic interactions between Akhil and Gurbir are not to be missed, providing some of the film’s most hilarious moments. However, the direction and storytelling could have been tighter, particularly in the climax. Despite these flaws, “Bad Newz” delivers an enjoyable cinematic experience with plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments, making it a must-watch for fans of romantic comedies.
