Arjun Kapoor calls for safe environment instead of protected this Raksha Bandhan amid ongoing Kolkata Rape and Murder protests. Asks, Let’s Make Women Feel Safe, Not Just Protected

This Raksha Bandhan, Arjun Kapoor took a moment to share something deeply personal and important. Instead of just celebrating the festival in the usual way, he used the occasion to talk about something that’s been on his mind for a while: the idea of what it really means to protect the women in our lives.

A Different Take on Raksha Bandhan

As Arjun Kapoor was getting ready to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with his sisters, he couldn’t shake off a nagging thought. This festival, which is all about a brother’s promise to protect his sister, felt a bit off to him this year. With everything going on in the world, he questioned why we focus so much on protection instead of making sure women feel safe in the first place.

“It feels really strange,” Arjun Kapoor said, “to celebrate a festival about protecting each other when so many women still don’t feel safe enough to walk alone, even in their own neighborhoods.”

In his video, Arjun Kapoor didn’t hold back. He spoke from the heart, pointing out how sad it is that women often feel they need a brother or a male figure just to feel secure. “Why is it,” he asked, “that we’re taught to protect women, but not to create a world where they don’t need that protection in the first place?”

Arjun’s point was simple: It’s not enough for men to step in only when things go wrong. They need to help create a world where those wrongs don’t happen at all. “It’s not enough to be the protector,” he said. “We have to make sure our sisters, our mothers, our friends, feel safe wherever they are, with or without us.”

Rethinking Our Roles as Men

Arjun Kapoor is asking men to change how they see their roles. He knows society has gotten used to seeing brothers and men as protectors, but he’s challenging that idea. “Why aren’t we taught to create an environment where women feel safe to roam without needing a brother at their side all the time?” he questioned.

He knows this isn’t an easy conversation, but it’s one that needs to happen. He’s hopeful that by sharing his thoughts, other men might start thinking differently too. “Even if it resonates with just a few people,” he said, “at least it’s a starting point.”

As a brother, Arjun Kapoor understands the instinct to protect his sisters, but he wants to go beyond that. He wants to empower them. “It’s not just about being there for the women in our lives,” he said. “It’s about making them feel strong, powerful, and most importantly, safe.”

Arjun’s words are a call to all men to be more than just protectors. He’s asking them to be part of creating a world where women can live without fear.

Arjun Kapoor’s message on Raksha Bandhan is a powerful reminder that traditions can be more than just rituals—they can be a chance to think about what really matters. For Arjun Kapoor, that means rethinking how we, as a society, approach women’s safety. It’s about moving past just protecting women and towards making the world a place where they feel safe, no matter what.

In a world full of distractions, Arjun Kapoor’s honest appeal stands out. It’s a reminder that real change begins with conversations like these, and that sometimes, the most meaningful celebrations come from questioning the way things have always been done.
