In the latest Bollywood News, actor Aftab Shivdasani Falls Victim to Rs 1.49 Lakh Scam, Mumbai Police Launch Investigation
As per the inside information, Aftab Shivdasani fell prey to a cyber scam after receiving a text message urging him to update his Know Your Customer (KYC) details associated with a prominent private sector bank. Upon clicking the link provided in the message, a counterfeit bank page surfaced. It was at this point that the cyber fraudster called Aftab from an unidentified number. And he instructed him to input his mobile number and PIN. Shortly after entering the PIN, Rs 1,49,999 was debited from Aftab’s account.
Following the incident, the Masti actor filed a complaint against the fraud activity. The Bandra Police have initiated legal proceedings against an unidentified individual under Section 420 (pertaining to cheating) of the Indian Penal Code. In addition, other relevant sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act are levied. An investigation is currently underway to address this matter.
Aftab Shivdisani was lucky that a limited amount was taken away considering his starry image and reputation. But for some, the same amount means one year’s salary who hardly take 15000 a month home after lots of hard work and struggle.
