Sonam Bajwa is a highly sought-after actress of the present era in the Pollywood industry. She is currently very busy promoting her upcoming movie, Godday Godday Chaa. She plays the main lead in the movie. And it is a female-centric movie. The Pollywood star is making all the possible efforts to reach a wider audience to drag more footfall for the movie on the ticket window. During a recent interview, she made a statement about Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday that has created a stir on the internet.

Sonam is an outsider in the industry and she curved her own path to success without any filmy background. Just like other Pollywood celebrities she wanted to make a mark in the central entertainment Industry. But every time she is considering to start something comes on her way.

Recently, she was asked if there was anything she would want to take from the young actresses of the entertainment industry. In the start, she kept a lock on her lips and just replied with a no as she preferred to avoid any controversy. However, she later added that young Bollywood actresses Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday have the privilege of easily meeting with Karan Johar at his residence to discuss roles and audition for them. Sonam implied that if she had the same access as these privileged star kids of the industry, then her career graph was going to be far better. So indirectly this access is something she wants to take away from the young actresses of Bollywood.

In the past as well she mentioned an incident that is related to Bollywood. Where she told that her song Sip Sip 2 was supposed to be part of the Bollywood movie named Street Dancer 3D. And, she also revealed that the team approached her but initially, she was not at all sure about doing that song.

But then she felt it will be a good experience to work with a senior artist like Remo D’Souza. And moreover the rest of the team as well as a bundle of talent. She even mentioned that Varun Dhawan as well is blessed with a good fanbase. But to her shock, the song couldn’t be part of the final reel of the movie Street Dancer 3D.

She further mentioned that she doesn’t regret or blame anyone. As it is the decision of the team to pick the best for the movie. And if she or her song is disqualified there must be a reason as well. Later on, the song was released online only after the movie got released.

Sonam also mentioned that the Bollywood industry tends to label actors as “song performers”. Especially when they try and perform for Bollywood movies. And she as well had to face similar comments referring to her as a dancer only.

Godday Godday Chaa is a Pollywood movie releasing 26 May 2023. It is a feminist-oriented comedy-drama with Sonam Bajwa as the main lead of the story. It is a ride to the times when women in the family were not allowed to accompany the groom to his wedding. The groom in the Punjabi culture visits the bride’s village and there they both tie the Knot.

The whole of the family including relatives and family friends join him in the celebrations at the bride’s place. But it was not the same always. Only men were allowed to go with the groom. The movie dates back to the times when women had to fight to change this norm. In the movie, actress Sonam Bajwa heads with her companions in the village on a mission to convince everybody to change this norm and allow women to celebrate as well.

It is the first Pollywood movie with a female lead as the script is female-centred.

Sonam Bajwa is an Indian model and a Pollywood actress who predominantly appears in Punjabi language films, alongside a few Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films. She was also a participant in the Femina Miss India contest in 2012. In the Year 2013, Sonam Bajwa started her acting career with the Punjabi film Best Of Luck. She also played the leading female role opposite Diljit Dosanjh in Punjab 1984. Her role in the movie named Ardab Mutiyaran was a critically acclaimed one and she also received the PTC Punjabi Film Awards for Best Actress for her role.
