Shah Rukh Khan Receives โน50 Lakh Extortion Threat Amid Rising Security Concerns for Bollywood Stars
Days after Salman Khan received death threats, Bollywoodโs โKing Khan,โ Shah Rukh Khan, has allegedly become the target of a new extortion demand. An anonymous caller, identifying himself as โFaizan,โ contacted Mumbaiโs Bandra police station on Monday, issuing a chilling threat against Shah Rukh Khan and demanding a sum of โน50 lakh. The caller allegedly warned that fatal consequences would follow if the amount was not paid, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dikshit Gedam.
This alarming development follows a series of recent threats against fellow Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Last Sunday, two men were apprehended near Salman Khanโs Bandra residence after suspiciously circling the area on a motorcycle. This incident further elevated Salmanโs security to Y-plus, with armed personnel deployed 24/7 around his residence. The latest threat against Shah Rukh Khan highlights a disturbing trend of Bollywood celebrities facing security risks.
Bandra police, taking the threat against Shah Rukh Khan with utmost seriousness, filed charges under sections 308(4) (extortion by threatening death) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sahinta (BNS). Authorities have confirmed that they traced the threatening call to Raipur in Chhattisgarh, where a police team has been dispatched to locate and apprehend the suspect.
“We are currently working to identify the accused and make an arrest with assistance from our cyber police division,” said DCP Gedam. The police investigation aims to determine the motive behind the extortion attempt and if the caller has any links to known gangs.
As threats to both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan escalate, the Mumbai Policeโs prompt response reflects a commitment to safeguarding Bollywoodโs leading stars.
