Yudhra Movie Review: Action-Packed but Falls Short on Story

Yudhra, an action-revenge movie starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, hit the theatres on 20th September. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film has a lot of action, but it lacks the emotional connection needed to keep the audience hooked.

Plot Summary: A Tragic Beginning

The story starts with a tragic accident where Yudhraโ€™s parents die. His mother was pregnant with him, and despite being inside her without oxygen for five minutes, he survives. This sets the stage for Yudhraโ€™s intense anger, which he carries throughout his life. Raised by his fatherโ€™s friend, who is a police officer, Yudhra later finds out the truth about his real parents and distances himself from his adoptive father.

Another family friend, Rehman, pulls Yudhra into a drug mission that ties back to his father’s death. The movie is filled with suspense, making the audience question everyoneโ€™s motives, including Yudhra’s girlfriend, Nikhal (played by Malavika Mohanan), and even Rehman.

Action and Violence: Too Much to Handle

The movie has plenty of action scenes, but the violence can be hard to watch at times. Yudhra is shown as a one-man army, taking down enemies with nothing but his anger. A strange habit he has is eating a lollipop right before every fight, which feels out of place and odd.

Siddhant Chaturvedi gives a decent performance, but his role is over-the-top. Other characters, including Yudhraโ€™s love interest Nikhal, barely get any screen time or importance in the story. Malavika Mohananโ€™s role feels more like a prop to add romance than a meaningful part of the plot.

Lack of Emotional Depth

Even though the movie has plenty of suspense, it misses out on emotions. Itโ€™s hard to connect with Yudhraโ€™s journey or feel for him. The action scenes take over the story, leaving little room for the characters to grow. By the end, the audience doesnโ€™t feel much attachment to Yudhra.

Box Office Performance

Yudhra made โ‚น4.52 crores on its opening day, but with its lack of emotional depth and too much violence, it might struggle to keep people coming to the theatres. The film doesnโ€™t have the charm to make a lasting impression, and itโ€™s likely to see a drop in ticket sales.

Final Thoughts: All Action, Little Story

In the end, Yudhra is full of action but lacks the heart to make it a memorable movie. Siddhant Chaturvedi does well with what heโ€™s given, but the exaggerated story and sidelined characters make it hard to fully enjoy.
